WANTED! Your Tandem T-Shirt for FTR 2012 Grand Prize QUILT Tandem riders who attended the Florida Tandem Rally 2011 were asked to search their storage boxes for tandem related T-shirts. We want to do a little something different for FTR2012 -- in the form of a grand prize. Over the years that we have been riding tandem events, most of us have collected a large number of T-shirts. We have worn them, given them to our grandkids, donated them to worthy causes or just stored them away, thinking we might find a use for them one day. Well, we think that we may have the grand prize we have been looking for, thanks to what we think is a great idea and someone who has volunteered their expertise to complete the project. We would like to present to a lucky tandem couple who registers for FTR2012 a king size quilt made from tandem event T-Shirts. Bob and Marilyn Duncan are from The Villages, and Marilyn has done some fabulous work with her needle and thread. She will take on the task of producing what she hopes will be an item that the lucky winner will take pride in and enjoy for years to come. In order to make this happen we will first need your help. We would like for each tandem team to send Marilyn a tandem event T-shirt. Your shirt will be most likely to be chosen to be part of the quilt if it has an unusual design, color or graphics. The shirt should be in good repair, with the colors still bright and crisp. We prefer cotton or cotton/polyester fabric. The choice of which ones are used will be entirely up to Marilyn. Any T-shirts that are not used as part of the quilt will be donated to a local charity. As you can imagine, this project will take a lot of preparation and work, and we are grateful to Marilyn for accepting the challenge. Please send your shirt as soon as possible.
